Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls

 Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls, Ont, incorporated as a township in 2001, population 720 (2011c), 672 (2006c). The Township of Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls is located on eastern shore of LAKE OF THE WOODS, 80 km southeast of KENORA; traditionally considered the site of an Ojibwa victory over the Sioux. Pictographs in the Sioux Narrows area indicate early Native occupation of the area.

The present economy depends on tourism and related services provided for a summer population of as many as 5000 vacationers.
