Gordon McLean. Pianist, teacher, b Winnipeg, 6 Oct 1909; LAB 1926, LRAM 1938, ARCM 1938. He studied piano with Leonard Heaton in Winnipeg, Alberto Guerrero in Toronto, Rudolph Ganz in Chicago, and, following World War II service in The Army Show, with Louis Kentner and Claudio Arrau in London.

Gordon McLean. Pianist, teacher, b Winnipeg, 6 Oct 1909; LAB 1926, LRAM 1938, ARCM 1938. He studied piano with Leonard Heaton in Winnipeg, Alberto Guerrero in Toronto, Rudolph Ganz in Chicago, and, following World War II service in The Army Show, with Louis Kentner and Claudio Arrau in London. He performed as a soloist and chamber musician on BBC radio. Returning from London he served 1958-75 as head of the piano department of theRegina Cons. He has examined for the WBM, adjudicated for the Saskatchewan Music Festival Association, and taught 1966-75 at the University of Saskatchewan. He has given many recitals and, with Howard Leyton-Brown, performed the complete violin-piano sonatas of Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, and Grieg. In 1975 he retired to Victoria, BC, as professor emeritus.
