Pierre Gautier. Organist, teacher, composer, b Argenton-sur-Creuse, Berry, France, 29 Oct 1863, d Eastview (now Vanier), near Ottawa, 15 Dec 1940. He studied piano, organ, and harmony in his native city, then in Paris at the Institut national des jeunes aveugles.
Simone Quesnel. Contralto, teacher, b Pointe-au-Chêne, Que, 19 Mar 1911, d Montreal 5 Dec 1987. She studied with Céline Marier and in 1931 gave a recital at the Delphic Study Club, which gave her a grant.
Rodolfo Masella. Bassoonist, teacher, b Montreal 7 Oct 1928, d there 29 Apr 1996. His first instrument was the cello, which he studied with Raoul Duquette and later with Jean Belland at the CMM 1943-6.
Pierre Grandmaison. Organist, teacher, composer, b Montreal 27 Jul 1949; B MUS (Montreal) 1970. He studied piano with Jeanne Gascon and 1966-70 with Marie Roby and Yvonne Hubert at the École Vincent-d'Indy. He also studied organ with Eugène Lapierre 1968-9 and with Françoise Aubut.

Orpha-F. Deveaux. Organist, pianist, teacher, b Saginaw, Mich, 24 Jul 1872, d Hartford, Conn, December 1933. His teachers in Montreal were Alexis Contant and Percival J. Illsley. He also studied at the New York College of Music with Mat Schmidt, among others.
Géza de Kresz. Violinist, teacher, conductor, b Budapest 11 Jun 1882, naturalized Canadian 1930, d Toronto 2 Oct 1959. He studied 1892-7 with Alajos Gobbi and 1897-1900 with Jenö Hubay at the National Cons in Budapest, graduating in 1900.
