Alastair Stewart (Primary Source)
Alastair Stewart was 18 years old in 1943, when he wanted to enlist. He wore glasses however, and so the only branch open to him was the Navy, which coincidentally, his three other brothers also joined. After training on the Triangle Run between Halifax, St. John's, and New York, he worked on Morse communications to shore & interception of U Boat signals.
