Capilano Review (1972) is a magazine of literature and the arts founded at Capilano College, N Vancouver, as an offshoot of the creative writing program. Originally a quarterly, Capilano Review has been published 3 times a year since 1989. It publishes poetry, fiction, photography, reviews and also drama. It has made something of a speciality of interviews with writers, and explores those points of contact between the arts offered by experimental movements such as concrete and visual poetry. Most contributors are west coast Canadian writers, but Capilano Review has published many translations of works by foreign experimental writers. Its primary focus, however, remains previously unpublished material.
