Charles Mills Drury, "Bud," public servant, politician (b at Montréal 17 May 1912; d at Gatineau Que 12 Jan 1991). During WWII Drury attained the rank of brigadier, and then was chief of the UN Relief and Rehabilitation Administration in Poland. After a brief stint in External Affairs, Drury was deputy minister of national defence 1948-55. He spent 1955-62 in private business, but in 1962 entered politics as a Liberal. Elected MP for St Antoine-Westmount, he joined the 1963 PEARSON cabinet. He held various posts in both the Pearson and TRUDEAU governments, including president of the treasury board. He left the Cabinet in 1977 and the House of Commons in 1978, subsequently becoming chairman of the National Capital Commission.
