Ernie Richardson, curler (born at Stoughton, Sask 1931). He gained world acclaim as skip of the famous Richardson Rink, probably the best known in Canadian curling history. In 1959 at Qu bec this family group of 2 brothers (Ernie and Garnet) and 2 cousins (Arnold and Wes), all Richardsons, became the youngest team to win the Brier. Noted for aggressive, take-out play, they went on to win 4 Briers in 5 years, 4 Scotch Cups for the world championship, and numerous other championships and titles. Ernie Richardson has also written several books on curling, and was honoured with the Order of Canada in 1978.
