Claude Raymond, baseball player (b at Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Qué 7 May 1937). He played 17 seasons of professional baseball, 12 of them in the majors. "Frenchy," as his teammates called him, went to the MONTREAL EXPOS on 19 Aug 1969 when they bought his contract from the Atlanta Braves. His best season was 1970, with 23 saves. He also played for the Milwaukee Braves, for the Houston Astros in the National League and a few games for the Chicago White Sox in the American League. In 1966 he took part in the major league all-star game. In Jan 1972 he retired, becoming a radio and TV baseball commentator.
