Guy Robert, writer, teacher, critic, publisher, poet (b at Ste-Agathe-des-Monts, Qué 7 Nov 1933). After studies at U de Montréal and U de Paris he was among the first to teach the literature of art in Qué. Starting in the 1960s, he threw himself wholeheartedly into the QUIET REVOLUTION.

Guy Robert, writer, teacher, critic, publisher, poet (b at Ste-Agathe-des-Monts, Qué 7 Nov 1933). After studies at U de Montréal and U de Paris he was among the first to teach the literature of art in Qué. Starting in the 1960s, he threw himself wholeheartedly into the QUIET REVOLUTION. He taught and gave conferences in various institutions in Québec, Ontario, France and Venezuela. He founded the Montreal Museum of Contemporary Art (1964) and ran the international exhibition of modern sculpture at EXPO 67. He is author of some 50 works and many articles, introductions, radio broadcasts and art films. He has published books on artists Pellan, Lemieux, Riopelle, Borduas and others, as well as poetry collections such as Québec se meurt (1969) and Textures (1976), studies such as Poésie québécoise actuelle (1970) and Aspects de la littérature québécoise (1970) and essays of aesthetic appreciation. Winner of the Grand prix littéraire de Montréal in 1976, he was a member of the FEDERAL CULTURAL POLICY REVIEW COMMITTEE.
