Harry J. Boyle, broadcaster, author (b at St Augustine, Ont 7 Oct 1915). He worked alternately as a freelance writer and radio reporter in southwestern Ontario before joining the CBC in Toronto in 1942.

Harry J. Boyle, broadcaster, author (b at St Augustine, Ont 7 Oct 1915). He worked alternately as a freelance writer and radio reporter in southwestern Ontario before joining the CBC in Toronto in 1942. He held various positions, including radio producer and department head, at the CBC until 1968, when he left to take a seat on the CANADIAN RADIO-TELEVISION AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION. He has published several collections of light essays and a number of realistic yet nostalgic novels, including The Great Canadian Novel (1972) and The Luck of the Irish (1975).
