C.E. Heidenreich
Conrad E. Heidenreich was a professor of historical geography at York University. His research focused primarily on the historical geography of Canada from pre-European times to the mid-19th century. He specialized in the exploration and mapping of Canada as well as Indigenous cultures prior to contact until the end of the French regime. He was particularly well known as a cultural geographer of Canada at the point of European contact. Additionally, he wrote articles deciphering the maps of Canada created in the 17th century. He contributed research about Samuel de Champlain. His best-known work was the award-winning Huronia: A History and Geography of the Huron Indians.
