Octave-Henri Julien, painter, illustrator (b at Québec C 14 May 1852; d at Montréal 17 Sept 1908). He began his career as engraver and lithographer with Desbarats's printing firm (about 1868), where he also learned drawing and painting.
Paul-Émile Borduas, painter (b at St-Hilaire, Qué 1 Nov 1905; d at Paris, France 22 Feb 1960). Leader of the Automatistes and main author of the manifesto Refus Global, he had a profound influence on art in Québec.
Normand Hudon, caricaturist, painter, fantasist (b at Montréal 5 June 1929, d at Montréal 8 Jan 1997).
