Martine Saint-Clair. Singer, lyricist, b Montreal 22 Jul 1964. She gave her first shows while in school, at 15, singing songs by Gino Vanelli and Jean-Pierre Ferland, her sister providing the piano accompaniment.

Chris Austin Hadfield, OC, OOnt, astronaut, military test pilot (born 29 August 1959 in Sarnia, ON). After a distinguished career as a test pilot, Hadfield became an astronaut in 1992. Over the course of his career, he achieved a series of Canadian firsts: he was the first Canadian to be a space mission specialist, to operate the Canadarm in orbit, to do a spacewalk and to command the International Space Station. He was also the first to record a music video in space — a cover of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” — adding to his celebrity status. Hadfield retired from the Canadian Astronaut Corps in July 2013. In 2014, he began teaching in the University of Waterloo’s aviation program.

Bishop Strachan School Chapel Choir Toronto girls' school choir known in 1990 as The Choir of the Bishop Strachan School. Variable in size, it numbered 55 members in 1990. A school choir existed at the time of World War I under J.W.

Amanda Meta Marshall, singer, songwriter (b at Toronto, 29 Aug 1972). Marshall began performing at age 16 and was discovered 2 years later by Toronto guitarist Jeff Healey, whose drummer, Tom Stephen, eventually became her manager.

Michel Pagliaro. Singer, songwriter, guitarist, record producer, b Montreal 9 Nov 1948. Michel Pagliaro sang and played guitar in a succession of Montreal "yé-yé" bands before meeting with success with Les Chanceliers, whose recording of "Le P'tit Poppy" was very popular in 1966.

Arlene Duncan, actor, singer, songwriter (born in Oakville, Ontario). Arlene Duncan is an award-winning actress and singer who has worked extensively in theatre, television, radio and film, but is perhaps best-known for her role as the conservative and crotchety café owner Fatima Dinssa on the hit CBC Television series “Little Mosque on the Prairie” (2007–12).

Clémence DesRochers, actress, humorist, singer and author (b at Sherbrooke, Qué 24 Nov 1934). Daughter of the poet Alfred DESROCHERS, she is the most famous female monologist of her generation in Québec.

Allan James Monk, OC, baritone (born 19 August 1942 in Mission, BC). Allan Monk is a lyric baritone acclaimed for the versatility and clarity of his voice, and his characterization and resourcefulness as an actor in opera.

Carole Champagne, known as Carole Laure, OC, actress, singer, director, screenwriter, producer (born 5 August 1948 in Shawinigan, QC).

Choeur Pie X. Founded in Montreal in 1936 by its first director, Éthelbert Thibault, and Eugène Lapierre. It was the regular choir on the CKAC radio program 'L'Heure catholique,' but was disbanded after less than two years.

Michel Rivard. Singer-songwriter, guitarist, actor, monologist, b Pointe-St-Charles (Montreal), 27 Sep 1951. The son of the actor Robert Rivard, he began his own career as a child actor in TV series and commercials.

Marjo (b Marjolène Morin). Singer, songwriter, b Montreal 2 Aug 1953. She was a model, fashion editor for the magazine Madame, and manager of L'Air du temps, a Montreal jazz bar, then a chorister in François Guy's musical comedies Tout chaud, tout show (1975), and L'Île en ville (1978).
