Yarmouth, NS, incorporated as a town in 1890, population 6761 (2011c), 7162 (2006c). The Town of Yarmouth is located at the entrance to Yarmouth Harbour at the western tip of Nova Scotia and referred to as Eastern Canada's Gateway.

La Baie was founded in 1838 by employees of the Société des Vingt-et-un, a Charlevoix forestry company bought by William Price in 1842. Price's sawmills were soon joined by port facilities, making La Baie, a natural harbour, a major port on the Atlantic coast.
First named Baye des Morues, or "bay of cod," by Jean Alphonse in the 1500s, it was referred to as malle baye (latin, "bad bay") by Samuel de CHAMPLAIN in 1608 for its difficult anchorage. Some of New France's first rural settlements were located in the area.
Agriculture sustained the early settlers, but the town developed through its close connection with the paper and textile industries.
Keremeos, BC, incorporated as a village in 1956, population 1330 (2011c), 1289 (2006c). The Village of Keremeos is located in the fertile bench beside the Similkameen River, 45 km south of PENTICTON. Its name likely derives from a Salish phrase meaning "wind channel in the mountain.

Halton Hills, ON, incorporated as a town in 1974, population 61,161 (2016 c), 59,013 (2011c). Halton Hills is located approximately 45 km west of Toronto and was created by the amalgamation of Acton, Georgetown and Esquesing Township. It is also encompasses several hamlets — Ballinafad, Glen Williams, Stewarttown, Limehouse, Glen Lawson, Speyside, Ashgrove, Crewson’s Corners, Bannockburn, Henderson’s Corners, Whaley’s Corners, Mansewood, Hornby, Silver Creek, Terra Cotta and Norval. From 1926 to 1935, Norval was home to Lucy Maud Montgomery, author of Anne of Green Gables.
Kimberley, BC, incorporated as a city in 1944, population 6652 (2011c), 6139 (2006c). The City of Kimberley is located in a valley between the Rocky Mountains to the east and the Purcell Mountains to the west, 31 km northwest of Cranbrook.
Leaf Rapids, Manitoba, incorporated as a town in 1974, population 453 (2011c), 539 (2006c). The Town of Leaf Rapids is a mining community located 3 km south of the CHURCHILL RIVER on the Canadian Shield and 976 km northwest of Winnipeg.
The Abenaki and the French missionaries often used the site because it was a focal point for canoes and small boats using the tributaries of the Saint-François. A sawmill and forest products plant (lumber and potash) preceded the founding of the first village by LOYALISTS around 1794.
Carbonear, NL, incorporated as a town in 1948, population 4739 (2011c), 4723 (2006c). The Town of Carbonear is located on the west shore of Conception Bay and is one of the oldest settlements in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Killarney, Manitoba, population centre, population 2197 (2011c), 2273 (2006c). Killarney was incorporated as a village in 1903, as a town in 1907 and merged with the Rural Municipality of Turtle Mountain to form the Municipality of Killarney-Turtle Mountain in 2007.
