Wellie or Willy Ringuette. Violoneux, composer, b Franklin, NH, 6 Feb 1898, d Trois-Rivières, Que, 10 Sep 1969. At eight he began playing a violin made by his father.

Richard Harrington, photographer-writer (b at Hamburg, Ger 24 Feb 1911; d at Toronto, 11 Dec 2005). Harrington began photography in 1940 when he was working as an X-ray technician in Toronto and was asked to make slides for doctors. A few years later he became a full-time freelance photographer-writer.

William Grant Glassco, director, producer (b at Québec City 30 Aug 1935; d at Toronto 13 Sept 2004). As artistic director of Tarragon Theatre in Toronto (1971-1982) and Centre Stage (1985-1991), Bill Glassco was a major force in the development and promotion of Canadian theatre and drama.

During the 1950s, Joudry turned to more serious dramatic writing for radio, television and stage. Her best-known play, Teach Me How to Cry, was first produced on CBC radio and television in 1953.

Cole was born the in USA to Canadian parents who soon returned to Canada, and she grew up in Toronto. She began violin lessons at three and piano at four, but the family moved frequently, and when they were in Saudi Arabia and unable to find a piano teacher Naida took up the flute.

James Milligan. Baritone, b Halifax, NS, 5 Apr 1928, d Basel 28 Nov 1961. He studied 1948-55 with Emmy Heim and Leslie Holmes at the RCMT and made concert and oratorio appearances in Toronto and nearby cities during those years. He was one of two winners of the 1951 'Nos Futures Étoiles'.
