The town of Outlook developed as a result of railway land development. In 1908 the Canadian Pacific Railway purchased the farm of a local homesteader and announced that it would be developed as a townsite.

Carman, Manitoba, incorporated as a town in 1905, population 3027 (2011c), 2781 (2006c). The Town of Carman, located 80 km southwest of WINNIPEG on the Boyne River in the Pembina Triangle, is one of the most prosperous agricultural districts in Manitoba.

Further growth resulted from the establishment of train repair yards. The headquarters of the Canada and Gulf Terminal Ry (linking Mont-Joli and Matane) located in the village in 1910. These developments led to the opening of a foundry that produced railway equipment.

The name Otterburn is a reminder of the birthplace of Sir Joseph Hickson, general manager of the GRAND TRUNK RAILWAY from 1874 to 1890.

Klondike (also spelled Klondyke). The name is derived from a Gwich'in word, thron-duick (hammer river), and identifies a town, a river, and a range of hills in the Yukon.

Coronach, Sask, incorporated as a town in 1978, population 711 (2011c), 770 (2006c). The Town of Coronach is located 15 km north of the international boundary and 145 kilometres southwest of REGINA.

Occupation of the present townsite started when Archdeacon John Alexander Mackay established a residential school and sawmill (1898). Not accessible by road until 1947, the largely Indigenous community grew very slowly for many years.

Grand Falls (or Grand-Sault), NB, incorporated as a town in 1890, population 5706 (2011c), 5650 (2006c). The Town of Grand Falls is located 228 km up the SAINT JOHN RIVER from Fredericton at the point where the Canada-US boundary begins to be designated by the river.

St George's, NL, incorporated as a town in 1965, population 1207 (2011c), 1246 (2006c). The Town of St George's is located on the southeast side of St George's Bay, on the west coast of Newfoundland.

The Town of Marystown is a shipbuilding and fish-processing centre, comprising the settlements of Marystown (formerly Mortier Bay), Creston, Creston North, Little Bay and Mooring Cove on the east side of the Burin Peninsula.

Springdale, NL, incorporated as a town in 1965, population 2907 (2011c), 2764 (2006c). The Town of Springdale is located on the northwest side of Halls Bay near the mouth of the Indian River.

Selkirk, Manitoba, incorporated as a town in 1882 and as a city in 1998, population 9834 (2011c), 9515 (2006c). The City of Selkirk is located on the west bank of the RED RIVER, 29 km north of Winnipeg.
