Marjan Mozetich, composer, teacher (b at Gorizia, Italy 7 Jan 1948). Arriving in Canada in 1952, Mozetich took piano and theory lessons in Hamilton with Reginald Bedford. After graduation from the University of Toronto in 1972, he studied in Europe with Luciano Berio.

Sir Daniel Wilson, scientist, author, educator (b at Edinburgh, Scot 5 Jan 1816; d at Toronto 6 Aug 1892). Wilson was a man of many talents.

Cecil Augustus Wright, "Caesar," educator (b at London, Ont 2 July 1904; d at Toronto 24 Apr 1967). Called Canada's most influential law teacher and the architect of LEGAL EDUCATION in Ontario, Wright taught at Osgoode Hall Law School from 1927, becoming dean in 1948.

Jacques Lavigne, philosopher (b 1919-d 1999). Educated at Montréal's Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf and the U de Montréal, he was primarily a professor in the Faculty of Social Science (chair of philosophy and political theory), then in the Philosophy Department.

Richard Albert Wilson, educator, author (b near Renfrew, Ont 18 Mar 1874; d at Vancouver 2 Jan 1949). Born on a farm in rural Ontario, he spent nearly the first half of his life working his way through school.

Camille Bernard. Soprano, teacher, actress, b Joliette, Que, 25 Feb 1898, d Montreal, 16 Jul 1984. After a year (1907) in Paris she began studying singing in Montreal with Béatrice La Palme and Salvator Issaurel.

Joseph-Arthur Bernier. Organist, pianist, teacher, composer, b Lévis, near Quebec City, 19 Mar 1877, d Quebec City 28 Apr 1944; honorary D MUS (Washington College of Music) 1931.

Richard Frank Salisbury, anthropologist (b at Chelsea, Eng 8 Dec 1926, d at Montréal, Qué 17 Jun 1989). Educated at Cambridge, Harvard and Australian National University, Salisbury was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in 1974 for his contributions to Canadian anthropology.
