Saskatchewan Music Educators Association (SMEA). Founded 24 Apr 1957 at a meeting organized by Rj Staples at the Teachers' College in Saskatoon and chaired by Lloyd Blackman. Membership began at 73 and neared 500 in 1990.

Dorothy Swetnam (m Hare). Pianist, teacher, accompanist, examiner, adjudicator, b Glace Bay, NS, 27 Mar 1911, d Calgary 8 Jun 2002; B MUS (Mount Allison) l933. She studied with James Noel Brunton, a pupil of Godowsky, at Mount Allison University.

Ontario town (Little Thames until 1831) located on the Avon River 75 kilometres west of Hamilton, in Perth County, and incorporated as a city in 1885. It was the site of railway shops ca. 1871-1964 and became the home of the Stratford Festival in 1953.

The festival acquired the Royal George Theatre in 1980 and, with an ongoing refurbishing program, has transformed it into a small Edwardian opera house, the site (with the exception of 1990) of annual productions of operetta or musical theatre.

Vogt Society (later the Society for Contemporary Music). Established in 1936 by the TCM Residence Alumni Association in honour of A.S. Vogt to promote the performance and publication of music by Canadian composers.

Schola cantorum. Founded in Montreal 19 Mar 1915 by Jean-Noël Charbonneau. It was inaugurated 15 September as the Diocesan School of Sacred Music by Archbishop Georges Gauthier of Montreal. Its first individual and group lessons were attended by 84 students.

In 1908, Fabre became a member of the Association Athlétique Amateur Nationale, an important French Canadian sporting club later known by the name the Palestre Nationale. Under the colours of Le Nationale, he took part in racing events on foot in summer and on snowshoes in winter.
