Bernard Donald Macdonald, Roman Catholic bishop of Charlottetown (b at Allisary, PEI 25 Dec 1797; d at St Dunstan's College, near Charlottetown, 30 Dec 1859). In 1812 Macdonald was one of the first 2 Island boys sent to study for the priesthood at the Grand Seminary of Québec.

Henry Wolsey Bayfield, naval officer, hydrographic surveyor (b at Hull, Eng 21 Jan 1795; d at Charlottetown 10 Feb 1885). At age 11, Bayfield joined the Royal Navy. In 1816 he was engaged by Captain W.F. Owen to assist in surveying Lake Ontario.

Lucien Bouchard, G.O.Q., lawyer, politician and premier of Québec (born 22 December 1938 in Saint-Coeur-de-Marie, Quebec). In the 1980s, Bouchard was a member of Brian Mulroney’s government, serving first as secretary of state and then as minister of the environment. Not long before the ultimate failure of the Meech Lake Accord, however, Bouchard left Cabinet after expressing his concerns with the process. With a group of Liberal and Conservative members of Parliament, he formed a new party, the Bloc Québécois, whose goal is to represent the interests of Québec in the House of Commons. A key figure in the 1995 Quebec referendum, Bouchard succeeded Jacques Parizeau in January 1996 as premier of Québec, a position he held until March 2001. He then returned to practising law.

James Morrison, Roman Catholic priest, professor, archbishop (b at Savage Harbour, PEI 9 July 1861; d at Antigonish, NS 13 April 1950).

Evelyne (Louise) Anderson. Soprano, actress, b Winnipeg 24 Dec 1929. She studied voice with her father, W.H. Anderson, and Gladys Whitehead in Winnipeg, and for a time with Jan van der Gucht in England. She was Meg Brockie in Brigadoon, the first full-scale production at Winnipeg's Rainbow Stage.

Angus Bernard MacEachern, Roman Catholic bishop of Charlottetown (b at Kinlochmoidart, Scot 8 Feb 1759; d at Canavoy, PEI 22 Apr 1835). In a missionary career spanning 5 decades, MacEachern firmly rooted Catholicism in pioneer Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick.

Alan Lund, choreographer (b at Toronto 23 May 1925; d at Toronto 1 July 1992). A specialist in musical theatre, he trained in Toronto and first established a performance reputation as a dance team with his wife Blanche, appearing during WWII in the revue Meet the Navy.
