Mona Kelly. Mezzo-soprano, b Port Arthur, now Thunder Bay, Ont, 4 Sep 1940; Artist Diploma (Toronto) 1962. She studied with Irene Jessner, Aksel Schiøtz, and, in England, Otakar Kraus, and sang such roles as Hansel in Hansel and Gretel (COC 1962), Nancy in Albert Herring (Stratford Festival 1967), and Oreste in La Belle Hélène (Festival Canada 1973, 1975). She was married to the conductor Mario Bernardi.
