Ken Watson

Ken Watson, curler (born at Minnedosa, Man 12 Aug 1904; died at Winnipeg 26 July 1986). When he skipped his Strathcona Cup (Manitoba) Rink to victory in the 1949 Macdonald Brier, Watson became the first to win the coveted Tankard 3 times (with a career Brier record of 25 and 2).

Ken Watson, curler (born at Minnedosa, Man 12 Aug 1904; died at Winnipeg 26 July 1986). When he skipped his Strathcona Cup (Manitoba) Rink to victory in the 1949 Macdonald Brier, Watson became the first to win the coveted Tankard 3 times (with a career Brier record of 25 and 2). Beginning in 1923 at the Manitoba Bonspiel, he won 32 major bonspiels, including an unprecedented 6 grand aggregates in succession (1942-47). An innovative strategist, he helped develop the sliding delivery and was a supreme exponent of the draw game. Watson also served as an administrator of CURLING at several levels and was a successful author - Ken Watson on Curling sold nearly 150 000 copies.
