George Keen, salesman, co-operative leader (b at Stoke-on-Trent, Eng 8 May 1869; d at Brantford, Ont 4 Dec 1953). Keen immigrated to Canada in 1904. In 1906 he helped organize the Brantford Co-operative Society, a consumer co-operative.

Samuel Zimmerman, businessman (b in Huntington County, Pa 17 Mar 1815; d near Hamilton, Canada W 12 Mar 1857). The best-known railway contractor of his time, he was notorious for his free-wheeling business methods and political connections.

Jean-Baptiste Lagemodière, also spelled as Lagimodière, Lagimonière and Lajimodière, fur trader (b at Trois-Rivières, Qué 26 Dec 1778; d at St-Boniface, Man 7 Sept 1855). Going west as a hunter and trapper about 1800, he returned to Québec in 1806, where he married Marie-Anne Gaboury.

Patrick Lenihan, trade unionist (b at Kanturk, Ire 11 Apr 1903; d at Calgary 4 Mar 1981). He was a member of the Sinn Féin movement engaged in rebellious activities against British rule in Ireland. In the 1930s he organized workers, farmers and unemployed throughout Alberta.

Moses Hart, businessman, landowner (b at Trois-Rivières 26 Nov 1768; d there 15 Oct 1852), brother of Benjamin HART. An eccentric but adept businessman, Hart began his career in Sorel by running a general store and then extended into the import-export business.

Jacques Bougie, administrator (b at Montréal, 1947). Jacques Bougie graduated from the Université de Montréal in law, and from l'École des Hautes Etudes Commerciales in business administration. He began working for Alcan in 1979 as manager for the company's Beauharnois smelter.

John Sackville Labatt, brewer (b at London, Ont 10 Mar 1880; d at Port Stanley, Ont 8 July 1952). The eldest son of John LABATT, he was educated at Trinity College School and McGill. Succeeding his father, he was president of JOHN LABATT LTD 1915-50.

Sir Albert Edward Kemp, businessman, politician (b at Clarenceville, Qué 11 Aug 1858; d at Pigeon Lake, Ont 12 Aug 1929). After establishing himself in business as owner and president of a sheet-metal manufacturing company, Kemp was a Conservative MP for East Toronto, 1900-08 and 1911-21.
