Éric Lagacé

Éric Lagacé. Double-bass player, b Montreal, 8 Jul 1959; premiers prix double-bass, dictation (CMM) 1985, premier prix harmony (CMM) 1989, premiers prix fugue, counterpoint (CMM) 1991. He has played with the MSO, the Quebec Symphony Orchestra, the NACO, and the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra.

Éric Lagacé. Double-bass player, b Montreal, 8 Jul 1959; premiers prix double-bass, dictation (CMM) 1985, premier prix harmony (CMM) 1989, premiers prix fugue, counterpoint (CMM) 1991. He has played with the MSO, the Quebec Symphony Orchestra, the NACO, and the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra. In 1987 he became a regular member of the Orchestre métropolitain. A versatile musician, he has accompanied numerous jazz performers, including Vic Vogel and Oliver Jones, and Michel Legrand during his visit to Montreal in 1989. He has written arrangements and compositions, in particular for the CBC radio program 'Sans frontières' 1990-1. He began to teach double-bass at Concordia University in 1988. He also is coach for various youth orchestras, including the Montreal Youth Symphony Orchestra 1989-.
