Michael Steven Bublé, singer (born at Burnaby, BC 9 Sept 1975). Michael Bublé grew up listening to his grandfather's jazz records and began his music career by appearing in big band productions and recording three independent albums (1995's First Dance, 2001's Babalu and 2002's Dream) that received little attention. The crooner caught a break when he was invited to sing at former Canadian prime minister Brian MULRONEY's daughter Caroline's wedding in 2000. There, he was introduced to Grammy Award-winning producer and label executive David FOSTER, who signed Bublé to his 143 record label. A self-titled album of standards and pop songs was released in 2003 and became very popular in Canada, the United States and Australia, where it topped the sales chart. It was certified quadruple-platinum in Canada and septuple-platinum in Australia. Bublé was named New Artist of the Year at the 2004 JUNO AWARDS, where the record was also nominated for Album of the Year. A 5-track holiday EP was released in November 2003 and was added to the self-titled album a year later as a special-edition Christmas record.
Come Fly with Me, a 2004 CD featuring 6 live recordings and two studio tracks, was certified gold in Canada. The DVD version was triple-platinum and laid the groundwork for another live DVD, 2005's Caught in the Act, which reached octuple-platinum in Canada. Bublé's second major label studio album, It's Time, came out in 2005 and followed along the same lines as the first. It topped sales charts in Canada, Japan and Italy and has sold more than 2.8 million copies in the United States, 600 000 in Canada and 350 000 in Australia. Bublé was named artist of the year, while It's Time was voted best album and "Home" was chosen top single at the 2006 Junos.
Bublé stuck with his successful formula when Call Me Irresponsible was released in 2007. It hit number one in Canada, the United States, Australia, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Ireland and the Netherlands, and "Everything" became a major hit. The album has sold well over 5 million copies worldwide, including more than 400 000 in Canada. It won a 2008 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album and Bublé took the Fan Choice Award after being nominated for 5 Junos the same year. Buble's fourth studio album, Crazy Love (2009), saw equal success, winning Juno awards in 2010 for album of the year, pop album of the year, fan choice award and single of the year for "Haven't Met You Yet." Crazy Love also found success at the 2011 Grammy Awards, winning the Grammy for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. Buble's Christmas was released in 2011, winning the Album of the Year award at the 2012 Juno. He was inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame in 2015.
